Abstract
Dans la Capitale et la Métropole on a été en mesure de développer une expertise dans le domaine de la sauvegarde du patrimoine archéologique en milieu urbain ainsi que de créer des postes à temps plein d'archéologues professionnels, ce qu'aucune autre municipalité n'a pu faire au Québec. Dans cette étude, nous évaluons donc la gestion de ce patrimoine dans deux municipalités, Québec et Montréal, d'abord afin d'en faire ressortir les aspects les plus efficaces, et ensuite pour vérifier si l'application de ce type de gestion à l'intérieur d'autres villes de la province, Trois-Rivières notamment, est possible et souhaitable. Pour ce faire, nous portons plus précisément notre attention sur la gestion du patrimoine archéologique financée à travers les ententes de développement culturel, ce qui nous permettra d'étudier à la fois l'implication du gouvernement du Québec et celui des municipalités concernées.
