Frecuencia y clasificación de neoplasias orales en pacientes caninos de la Clínica de Animales Menores de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos en el periodo 2009-2013

Abstract
Determina la frecuencia de neoplasias orales diagnosticadas histopatológicamente en caninos pacientes de la Clínica de Animales Menores de la Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad Mayor de San Marcos en el periodo enero 2009 a diciembre 2013. Se evaluaron variables como edad, sexo, peso, raza, localización anatómica y clasificación histológica. Se encontró una frecuencia de neoplasias orales en caninos de 11.98% (23/192) donde las edades de mayor presentación son de 6 a 10 años con un 52.17% (12/23) y los pesos de mayor presentación son de 25 a 44 kg con un 47.83% (11/23). Los caninos machos tuvieron una mayor presentación con un 65.22% (15/23). Los caninos de raza pura fueron los más afectados con un 69.57% (16/23) donde las más afectas fueron Rottweiler y Labrador Retriever con un 13.04% (3/23) cada una, y la localización anatómica más común fue en la gingiva fue 69.57% (16/23). Las neoplasias malignas fueron de mayor presentación con un 73.91% (17/23) de las cuales la de mayor frecuencia fue el melanoma oral con un 21.74 % (5/23) y la neoplasia benigna más común fue el épuli con un 17.39 % (4/23). Siendo las neoplasias no odontogénicas las de mayor frecuencia con un 82.61% (19/23).
