Abstract
The Profession Today. In May 2016 Christina van Bohemen took up the position of President of the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA). She is only the second woman elected to this position, the first having been Helen Tippett over a quarter of a century ago. With Teena Hale-Pennington as its Chief Executive Officer, the NZIA now has women in both of its key leadership roles. It is a historic time across architecture and engineering as IPENZ also has a female President and CEO. In this session, Christina and Teena will discuss key issues facing the profession today and their vision for its future direction.
