"Was bedeutet Arbeit für die Menschen? Und wie wird die Arbeit künftig aussehen? Auf der Suche nach den Antworten fuhr die Filmemacherin Natasa von Kopp mit ihrem Team quer durch Deutschland. Sie traf Arbeiter, Manager, Wissenschaftler, Philosophen, Zukunftsforscher und Autoren und sprach mit ihnen über Arbeit heute und in der Zukunft. Zu Wort kamen unter anderem der Unternehmer Götz Werner und der Philosoph Frithjof Bergmann. Arbeit prägt die Menschen, ihren Alltag, ihren Lebensrhythmus. Sie macht zufrieden, motiviert, belastet oder macht sogar krank. Sie ist Teil des persönlichen Lebens und hat zugleich einen öffentlichen Charakter. Ob man Arbeit hat oder nicht: Sie definiert den Menschen, ist allgegenwärtig. Arbeit ist wichtig und notwendig.
