Dette er en teoretisk oppgave som er basert på eksisterende litteratur. I denne oppgaven har jeg tatt for meg temaet miljøvennlig reising for å finne ut hva som påvirker våre valg til å være miljøvennlige. \nNår man ser på holdninger knyttet til bekymringer ved klimautslipp, er det mennesker med høyere utdanning og 18-29 års alderen som er mest bekymret. Blant disse er kvinner mer bekymret enn menn. Menn med høyrere stillinger er mindre bekymret enn resten av befolkningen. Studenter prøver å være miljøvennlige i valgene de gjør på butikken og transportmidler. \nNår man er på ferie ønsker man å gjøre andre ting enn det man gjør hjemme. Lysten til å prøve noe nytt og annerledes er av mange grunnen til å reise vekk. Om rutinene man har fra hjemmet, knyttet til miljøvennlige vaner (eks. kildesortering, vannbruk, skru av lys ol.), vil disse rutinene også bli med på ferie. Det er vanskelig å vende av seg en vane.\nI tillegg til vaner blir man påvirket av omgivelsene og det andre gjør. Det er her turister ofte blir påvirket til å gjøre forskjellig enn det de normalt ville gjort om de er hjemme. Moral teller også inn når valg tas og disse verdiene er noe av det som teller mest når mennesker tar valg knyttet til bærekraft og miljø.
