Abstract
Il contributo ripercorre le vicende politico-istituzionali del Canada nel quadrimestre maggio-agosto 2024, analizzando il contesto di profonda incertezza politica causato dalla crisi di popolarità del governo Trudeau e dalle crescenti preoccupazioni per l'integrità del processo elettorale a fronte di episodi di interferenza straniera. La competizione per il rinnovo della Camera dei Comuni, ormai prossima (ottobre 2025, salvo elezioni anticipate), si preannuncia come un appuntamento decisivo per il futuro degli attori politicamente rilevanti e per la definizione delle direttrici della politica federale. Al contempo, essa rappresenta un importante banco di prova per la stabilità complessiva del sistema democratico.
