Abstract
Michael Spencer, C.M. was the first executive director of the Canadian Film Development Corporation, established in 1968 as the first federal program to support the development of a Canadian Feature Film industry. Much of the story is told in his book, Hollywood North â Creating the Canadian Motion Picture Industry, which is listed as one of the resource materials for CMNS 610, a graduate course on Canadian Film Policy.\nThe interview was recorded in Spencer's Montreal home in August, 2010, when he was a still feisty 90 years old.
