Abstract
The stratigraphic investigations were preceded by a surface survey of the area of the ancient Cornus, which allowed us to identify it's chronological range as dating from the fifth century B.C. to the seventh century A.D. The first two excavations brought to light a series of structures linking back to three different occupation phases of the settlement.A cistern of large ashlars of limestone dates to the earliest phase.This has been dated, based on building techniques, to a stage no later than the second century A.D. A structure, interpreted as a bath building which, based on the African Sigillata D may be dated to the last quarter of the fourth century A.D, occurs in a second phase.The last phase, dating from the beginning of the sixth century A.D., coincides with a renewed occupation of Cornus as byzantine castrum. Cornus tra età punica ed età romanaLe fonti letterarie relative a Cornus, così come del resto i dati archeologici, sono quasi del tutto nulli e non consentono di ricostruire i tratti salienti della storia della città 1 .Nulla sappiamo riguardo alla sua fondazione, né per ciò che riguarda la cronologia né tantomeno se si tratti di una fondazione punica, oppure se Cornus sia stato invece in origine un centro indigeno.Nonostante una simile penuria d'informazioni sia storiche sia archeologiche, la storiografia sembra propendere per una fondazione punica dell'insediamento alla fine del VI sec.a.C., collegata allo sfruttamento delle risorse minerarie del Montiferru.Il centro sarebbe stato successivamente inserito in un sistema difensivo costiero realizzato da Cartagine 2 .Il sito è presente nell'Itinerarium Antonini, che lo colloca in posizione centrale tra Bosa e Tharros, a XVIII milia passuum da entrambe 3 .Meno chiara è la collocazione proposta, invece, dall'Anonimo Ravennate e da Guidone, i quali inseriscono Corni in una successione senza ordine di centri lungo la via litoranea 4 (fig.1). Nel testo i numeri di US e USM vengono segnalati in neretto. 1 Per una più esaustiva trattazione sul toponimo e sulle fonti letterarie relative alla storia di Cornus vd.MASTINO 1979;

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
