Abstract
The aim of this article is to describe the historical elements of the course of archival associations, an end to demarcate, how the professional body - area was developed in relation to its institutionalization of its associated movement. Archives is approached through analysis, historical-discursive. The stat-utes of two professional associations of the area are analyzed, the Association of Brazilian Archivists and the Association of Canadian Archivists. While a methodological contribution is based on the analysis of the French language, developed by Michel Pêcheux and the concept of discursive formation, appropriated by the area of analysis of the discourse of the work of Michel Foucault, seeking to construct a discursive analysis of the analyzed institutions.
