Abstract
Det händer lätt att man inte tar objektivets roll i beaktande när man tänker på bildkvalitet. Detta arbete fungerar som en genomgång över de avbildningsfel och problem man kan stöta på i kameraoptik, samt som en guide över metoder man kan använda för att undvika dessa problem antingen medan man fotograferar, eller i efterhand. Arbetet är riktat till hobbyfotografer och entusiaster som vill öka sin kunskap inom optiken i objektiv och lära sig identifiera diverse avbildningsfel. Det visar sig att det finns ett antal fenomen och problem som inverkar på bildkvaliteten. Många av dem har till viss mån korrigerats av tillverkare genom åren med hjälp av specifika linselement. Andra avbildningsfel förekommer ännu, och en del av dem kan man lösa bland annat genom att vara medveten om objektivets egenskaper och omgivningen runt sig. Man bör även undvika användningen av bländarens största och minsta värden, samt brännviddens kortaste och längsta längder. I efterhand går det att korrigera distorsion, vinjettering och kromatisk aberration med hjälp av Adobe Lightroom 3 eller 4, och Adobe Photoshop CS5 eller CS6. Arbetet är en litteraturstudie med källor från nätet. Arbetet behandlar inte algoritmer eller andra formler för uppkomsten av avbildningsfel, eller tekniska utredningar över funktionaliteten i objektiv.
