Abstract
Stepping on the age of 18-30 is a phase where individuals experience self crisis or can be called a quarter life crisis. One of the characteristics of a person experiencing a quarter life crisis is the emergence of anxiety related to the individual's future. Anxiety itself is a disturbance in human psychology caused by threats and fear, as felt by communication science students class 2015 in 2022 this is the last year to complete their studies and if it is not resolved then there is a threat of dropout, as for work-related anxiety. This study aims to see how the role of 2015 student intrapersonal communication in the form of 'positive affirmation' when facing anxiety in the quarter life crisis. \nThis type of research uses descriptive qualitative with the basis of phenomenological research. Data was collected by interviewing, observing, and documenting three subjects of communication science students class 2015. The theory used is the cognitive dissonance theory proposed by Leon Festinger. \nThe results showed that intrapersonal communication has a role when dealing with anxiety, anxiety that makes individuals uncomfortable encourages individuals to think and do activities that can reduce anxiety, one of which is by giving positive affirmations to oneself. The formation of positive affirmations can be obtained from motivational videos or even self-made. After giving positive affirmations, each individual gets different effects, some feel calmer, more confident in their abilities, ignore negative things, and can even change the behavior of individuals who are initially lazy and then move to complete their thesis.
