Abstract
L'accès aux services de santé dans le système public québécois est présentement difficile. Le sera-t-il davantage d'ici quelque temps, alors que les usagers du système seront de plus en plus nombreux, en raison du vieillissement de la population? L'organisation actuelle des services de santé comporte de multiples lacunes. La nouvelle structure mise en réseau de l'information n'y fait pas exception. Dans ce contexte, le respect des droits fondamentaux des personnes âgées, principaux consommateurs de services est ébranlé. En tenant compte des nouvelles réalités démographiques, le Québec doit se doter d'un système de santé qui assure l'accès des personnes âgées aux services de santé et garantira, du coup, le respect de leur dignité.
