Aquest treball és una proposta de recerca doctoral que té per objectiu analitzar les estratègies de/ncomunicació i relacions públiques utilitzades per la Generalitat de Catalunya en el marc de/nl’estratègia de diplomàcia pública del Pla de l’Acció Exterior de Catalunya (2010-2015)./nL’estudi pretén determinar fins a quin punt els instruments de comunicació i relacions públiques/nresulten eficaços per augmentar l’atenció mediàtica internacional i influir en l’opinió pública/ninternacional. Per examinar el grau d’eficàcia d’aquests instruments, el projecte es centra en/nexaminar les accions comunicatives destinades a informar als líders d’opinió dels Estats Units,/naixí com els seus efectes en els mitjans nord-americans. La metodologia de l’estudi es basa/nprincipalment en l’elaboració d’entrevistes en profunditat als principals responsables de l’acció/nexterior, diplomàcia pública i de comunicació del govern actual i l’anàlisi de contingut de la/npremsa nord-americana durant l’aplicació del Pla de l’Acció Exterior.
