Abstract
The present work aims to provide an overview of the Creative Export Strategy implemented by the Canadian government in 2018 to boost its exports in the creative industries sector. The work offers background on the creative export strategies of other countries along with the role of governments. Likewise, it outlines some elements to consider Canada's Creative Export Strategy as a tool for cultural relations and its implications within the broader framework of the creative industries in the Canadian context.
