Musine Kokalari (1917-1983), oggi in Albania riconosciuta Onore della Nazione, è stata la prima, grande scrittrice e poetessa albanese del Novecento, sensibile alla nascente “questione femminile” e alla miseria delle società rurali da lei denunciata in intensi, partecipati componimenti. Nel 1938 è a Roma per laurearsi in Lettere alla Sapienza. Impegnata nella costruzione di un’Albania democratica, rientrata nel suo paese nel 1946, viene additata dal regime comunista quale “sabotatrice e nemica del popolo” e condannata al carcere e all’isolamento forzato fino alla morte avvenuta nel 1983. "La mia vita universitaria" è la sua autobiografia giovanile che solo oggi vede la luce in quello stesso italiano in cui fu composta a Roma durante il fascismo.
