Esta memoria de tesis doctoral contiene un estudio del relleno sedimentario continental de la cuenca de guadix-baza (granada), aceptando la existencia de cuatro unidades tectosedimentarias (uts). - uts-ci(turoliense superiro) con sedimentos lacustres margososy aluviales tipofan-delta. - uts-cii (alfambriense) con sedimentos lacustres margoso-calizos. - uts-ciii (villaniense-pleistoceno inferior) con sedimentosaluviales, fluvio-lacustres y lacustres calcareos y evaporiticos en relacion tanto lateral como vertical. - uts-civ (pleistoceno medio superior) con sedimentos aluviales proximales y lacustres margosocalizos. Los estudios efectuados muestran que en esta evolucion sedimentaria existe un marcado control cicloclimatico a partir de señales astronomicas entre 500 y 400.000 años de periodo, y un control tectonico. Este ultimo es el causante de un periodo de comprension durante el transito mioceno-plioceno y de un periodo de extension especialmente evidente durante el villaniense superior
