"La patria interferida. Nacionalismos y regionalismos en la España franquista" investiga la dialèctica entre nació i regió i entre nacionalismes i regionalismes des de 1939 a 1977. Aquest estudi es planteja abordar aquesta qüestió des de una perspectiva múltiple, recolzant-se en las modernes teories desenvolupades pels estudis sobre nació i nacionalismes. En primer lloc, interpretant la nació com a relat. En segon lloc, aprofitant el Gir Espacial que observa la qüestió nacional a partir de l'àmbit local, i regional en particular. En tercer lloc, analitzant aquests fenòmens com a necessitats de ser reproduïts i retro-alimentats de manera permanent. En quart lloc, partint de la crítica a l'ús de la història en la construcció i reproducció de la nació. L'estudi fa servir múltiples fonts, tant primàries com secundaries. A l'ensems de les fonts d'arxiu consultades i de les referències contingudes en el estat de la qüestió, aquesta recerca compta amb un tercer tipus de font, que rastreja el debat cultural, polític i intel·lectual de perfil historicista i assagístic. El resultats de la tesi posen de manifest com també les identitats nacionals d'Estat, siguin franquistes o anti-franquistes, estan impregnades de profunds elements essencialistes i etno-culturals. A més a més, la regió i el regionalisme juguen un important paper en el recolzament a la integritat dels relats nacionals i de la seva reproducció.
