Abstract
Au Canada, la répartition des tâches domestiques dans les ménages demeure inégalitaire : les femmes accomplissent la majorité des tâches alimentaires. Cette dynamique reste peu explorée auprès des mères étudiantes, dont les horaires atypiques et la charge cognitive ajoutent des défis particuliers. Les autrices ont développé un cadre conceptuel pour explorer la conciliation études-famille, les types de conflits générés, les stratégies d’adaptation et leurs effets. Basée sur une méthodologie mixte combinant un sondage (n = 169) et des entrevues individuelles (n = 8), leur étude a ciblé des mères étudiantes. Les résultats révèlent des difficultés de conciliation souvent accentuées par un emploi rémunéré. Les mères soulèvent des tensions entre leurs différents rôles et le manque de temps. La division des tâches alimentaires demeure inégale et, face à ces contraintes, elles déploient diverses stratégies alimentaires, parfois associées à des sentiments négatifs. Leur recherche invite à une réflexion sur les tâches domestiques dans des contextes atypiques et précaires.
