Abstract
Cette recherche, effectuée auprès de huit écoles primaires de la grande région de Montréal, analyse la perception des parents bénévoles par rapport à leurs conditions de participation. La recherche a été effectuée au moyen d'un échantillon adressé à 291 parents (103 réponses). Elle a permis de vérifier l'impact qu'ont le revenu familial, la maîtrise de la langue de la société d'accueil (dans le cas de parents non natifs du Québec) et la disponibilité sur la participation des parents à l'école de leur(s) enfant(s). La recherche a également couvert, d'une part, le regard qu'ont les parents bénévoles de l'accueil que leur réserve l'école, l'impact de leur présence à l'école et leurs attentes face à cette participation, et, d'autre part, la perception que les parents non natifs du Québec ont de cette forme de bénévolat. Les analyses ont permis de suggérer certaines pistes de réflexion susceptibles d'accroître cette présence parentale bénévole dans les écoles.
