TIIVISTELMÄ \n \nMarani Hanaá \nNivelrikko-oppaan harjoitteluohjeiden kääntäminen arabian kielelle \nKommentoitu käännös \n26 sivua, 2 liitettä \nLokakuu, 2019 \nDiakonia-ammattikorkeakoulu \nHumanistisen alan ammattikorkeakoulututkinto \nTulkki (AMK), Asioimistulkkauksen tutkinto \n \nTämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kääntää Suomen Nivelyhdistys ry:n Kumppanina nivelrikko - Näin tulen toimeen -oppaan harjoitteluohjeet suomen kielestä arabian kielelle ja kommentoida käännöstyössä esiintyneitä ongelmia ja niiden ratkaisuja. \n \nKäännöksen kohderyhmäksi valittiin Suomessa asuvat arabiankieliset aikuiset, keski-ikäiset ja ikääntyneet maahanmuuttajat, jotka osaavat lukea arabian kieltä. Kohderyh-mällä on mahdollisuus saada tietoa nivelrikon hoidosta harjoittelun avulla omalla äidin-kielellään. Nivelrikkoon ei ole olemassa parantavaa lääkettä. Oppaassa olevat itseharjoit-teluohjeet antavat mahdollisuuden tulla paremmin toimeen sairauden kanssa tai jopa ennaltaehkäistä sitä, joten oli hyödyllistä kääntää ohjeet arabiaksi. \n \nKäännösprosessin aikana jouduttiin jatkuvasti valintoja eri käännösvaihtoehtojen välillä ja monesti päädyttiin ristiriitatilanteeseen. Tämän vuoksi turvauduttiin käännösstrategi-oihin, joista käytettiin eniten kotouttavaa käännösstrategiaa. Sitä sovellettiin kohdekie-leen sen kielioppia ja kulttuurin normeja noudattaen. Käännöksessä tavoitteena oli, ettei lukija huomaisi lukevansa käännettyä tekstiä, vaan että hän tuntee lukevansa alkuperäisiä harjoitteluohjeita ja näin hyötyy niistä parhaiten.
