L 'exposition Auto/Pathographies runit des photos, des vidos, des perfor- mances et des installations, produites de 1990 nos jour s, qui abordent des questionnements identitaires lis l'exprience d'une maladie.Les oeuvres des ar tistes par ticipants, qui travaillent au Canada, aux tats-Unis, au Royaume-Uni et en Autriche, offrent des per spectives la fois sensibles et critiques sur l'impact de la maladie dans la redfinition de l'tre et de ses rappor ts sociaux.Un nombre d'images rares issues de la Jo Spence Memorial Archive, prsentes pour la premire fois au Canada, comptent par mi les oeuvres de l'exposition.Le tr avail de Spence a fait l'objet de deux rtrospectives Londres cette anne, marquant le 20 e anniver saire de son dcs.Auto/Pathographies inclut des explorations photographiques provenant de sa srie The Final Project qui por tent sur le thme de la mor talit. tr aver s chacune des oeuvres prsentes dans Auto/Pathographies, la maladie se tr ansfor me en un site d'inter rogation esthtique, politique, voire mme mtaphysique, dont l'intrt s'tend au-del des biographies individuelles.
