Abstract
Entre la fin des années 1940 et les années 1990, les organismes d’envoi de prêtres diocésains vers l’Amérique latine s’appuient sur des centres de formation missionnaire situés en Europe (Madrid, Louvain, Vérone) ou en Amérique latine (Cuernavaca au Mexique, Petrópolis au Brésil). Là sont assurés des cours d’apprentissage intensif de l’espagnol et du portugais mais une initiation à la culture du pays d’accueil est également proposée. Ces centres sont encore peu connus mais la documentation disponible révèle des tensions sur le sens donné à la préparation de l’apostolat. Par ailleurs, la coordination de l’ « aide » nord-américaine (états-unienne et canadienne) est un exemple significatif des circulations religieuses mises en place sur l’impulsion romaine à l’échelle continentale.
