Abstract
Cultural Safety originally emerged from Aotearoa New Zealand and was developed to particularly support Māori nurses to be safe in who they were when studying and when in practice. Since then, it has been embraced particularly by countries with indigenous populations including Australia and Canada. Whilst intrinsically connected with health it has different facets which connect to other continuums such as cultural competence. Within this session we shall explore what Cultural Safety is and how this concept can perhaps be used to support students and staff to be able to be who they are.
