"¿Cómo se construyen los patrones culturales de género en las áreas rurales? Gabriela Rodríguez realiza entrevistasa hombres y mujeres de tres generaciones en una comunidad productora de caña en el estado de Puebla paracomparar las diferencias y semejanzas en los procesos de cortejo, noviazgo y prácticas sexuales. El reconocimientodel deseo y la confrontación que tiene éste con los patrones establecidos de comportamiento sexual, aparece enconflicto. Su análisis parte del estudio de la organización social de la sexualidad y toma en cuenta la respuestaerótica que dan hombres y mujeres a sus encuentros y cómo ellos y ellas se describen a sí mismos ante esta realidadsubjetiva."
