Abstract
Ce cahier dresse un portrait statistique du secteur des pâtes et papiers au Québec pour les années 1989 et 1993. Il cerne l'importance du secteur en termes d'emplois et de produits et il mesure l'évolution récente de l'emploi qui a diminué de 25%, entre 1989 et 1993. Il identifie les compagnies et les usines et il compare leur importance relative au niveau des capacités de production et de l'emploi. Il se penche également sur l'état de la technologie dans les usines de production de papier. Il traite en outre de la présence syndicale dans le secteur. En appendice, sont enfin présentés des tableaux statistiques contenant les principales coordonnées sur chacune des usines de pâtes et papiers au Québec.
