Abstract
The title of this thesis is a profile of the career aspirations of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang and its implications for career guidance programs. Problem formulation 1) What is the profile of the career aspirations of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the academic year 2022/2023? 2) What are the implications of the career aspiration profile of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for the career guidance program? The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) the career aspirations profile of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the academic year 2022/2023. 2) the implications of the career aspiration profile of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the 2022/2023 academic year for the career guidance program. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a data collection tool in the form of a student career aspiration questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is central trend analysis. The calculation results are known that x = 173.40, SB = 13.07 and GB〗_X = 2.38. The results of these calculations are compared with the normal distribution table for z prices at a significance level of 1%. Based on the above calculation, the average career aspiration of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the academic year 2022/2023 is 173.40 which is between the score range of 162-199, including in the high category. It can be concluded that grade VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang for the academic year 2022/2023 already have good career aspirations. The results of the analysis of each aspect show that the aspect of ideals with a score of 56.18 in the range of scores of 55-67 is in the high category, aspects of desire with a score of 58.85 in the range of scores of 55-67 are in the high category, and aspects of determination with a score of 57.56 in the range of scores from 55 to 67 is in the high category. Based on the results of the research data analysis as described, the researchers propose suggestions to the parties concerned: a) Principals are expected to increase cooperation with BK teachers, facilitate and support all career guidance programs in schools so that they are carried out properly in order to maintain aspirations. good student career. b) BK teachers are expected to design and develop career guidance service programs that are more responsive to fire in order to maintain students' career aspirations that are already good.c) Subject teachers are expected to further enhance collaboration with BK teachers in a sustainable manner to provide information about students who have problems related to career aspirations to be followed up in career guidance services.d) students are expected to actively take advantage of the career guidance services provided by BK teachers to maintain their career aspirations.
