Die Bewegungswissenschaften haben in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ihren Ursprung in der Beforschung Neuer Sozialer Bewegungen. Unter anderem auch deshalb blieben rechte Protestmobilisierungen aus der Perspektive der deutschen Movement Studies lange unerforscht. Das änderte sich mit den rassisti-schen Ausschreitungen Anfang der 1990er Jahre als eine Debatte darüber entbrannte, ob die (extreme) Rechte nicht auch als eine Bewe-gung aufzufassen sei. Spätestens seit Anfang der Nullerjahre besteht zwar ein Konsens dar-über, das dem so ist. Doch führte dies nicht dazu, das Nischendasein der bewegungswissen-schaftlichen Beschäftigung mit rechten Ak-teur*innen aufzulösen. \nIm Nachgang des durch die Dresdner Pegida-Demonstrationen initiierten rechten Protest-zyklus (seit Ende 2014) ändert sich dies. Seit-dem rückt der Fokus verstärkt darauf, wie rechte Bewegungen methodisch angemessen zu beforschen sind. So hat Pegida offengelegt, dass das methodische Instrumentarium der Be-wegungsforschung bei seiner Anwendung im rechten Mobilisierungskontext schnell an Gren-zen stößt, was zuletzt auch forschungsethische Fragen einschließt. \nDie hier versammelten Beiträge greifen diese Forschungslücke und Problemlage auf: Sie beleuchten jeweils an konkret durchgeführten Studien im rechten Protestmilieu wie quali-tative und quantitative Methoden eingesetzt werden können und diskutieren sowohl
