Abstract
While contraceptive choice has been central to family planning research in countries such as Canada over the past three decades, there has been less consideration of the relationship between contraceptive method choice and women’s fertility preferences in the Arab world, says University of Regina Sociology and Social Studies professor, Rozzet Jurdi. She has found that while there has been an increase in contraceptive use by women in Egypt, Jordan and Morocco since the 1980s, the type of contraceptives being prescribed do not meet women’s specific needs.
