Les professionnels de la santé peuvent, comme tout un chacun, basculer de l’autre côté de la barrière des bien-portants. Mis à leur tour dans cette situation, comment concilient-ils identité de soignant et identité de patient ? Une infirmière hospitalisée a-t-elle des attentes spécifiques liées à sa posture de soignante ? Sur la base d'une démarche itérative, des entretiens semi-directifs auprès de quatre infirmières expérimentées hospitalisées récemment en Suisse romande ont été menés. Pour analyser les données recueillies, les concepts utilisés ont été le « prendre soin » de Hesbeen, « les niveaux de la relation » de Malabeuf, et « le caring » de Watson. Les résultats ont également été comparés à une recherche canadienne parue en 1996 sur les attentes des patients envers les infirmières.
