Structural Performance of Z Modular Bundled Column VectorBloc Connection
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Steel modular construction presents a modern and efficient method of building, serving as an alternative to traditional construction practices. The rise in popularity of steel modular buildings addresses the growing demand for infrastructure in large cities. The key component of a steel modular building is the connection between the beams and columns. The VectorBloc connector is an innovative cast-steel connector which involves hollow structural steel (HSS) members to hold the building together under various loading conditions. The previous research on VectorBloc corner connection focused on its behavior under design axial tension and compression loads for a mid-rise living facility in Ontario. The structural behavior of a new bundled column VectorBloc corner connection is investigated in this study for potential application in construction of the high-rise buildings. This research presents the performance of the connection under axial compression loads through the results of full-scale experimental test and finite element analyses. This study shows that bundled column VectorBloc connection is able to carry the design load without compromising the strength of the connection. A parametric study is also conducted to propose recommendation to improve the connection capacity.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
