Abstract
Field observations during the autumn of 1992 indicated a large Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) movement occurred on southern Vancouver Island.The jays were reluctant to cross wide expanses of water.Banding studies during the winter of 1992/1993 suggest that $teller's Jays disperse and occupy discrete winter territories.A review of literature and Christmas Bird Count data showed similar invasions have occurred periodically since at least 1913.mature oak trees have been retained in some resi-Page 90 North American Bird Bander Jul.-
