Abstract

We present the first study of the time-dependent [Formula presented]-violating asymmetry in [Formula presented] decays using [Formula presented] annihilation data collected with the BABAR detector at the [Formula presented] resonance during the years 1999–2002 at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy [Formula presented] Factory at SLAC. Using approximately [Formula presented] [Formula presented] pairs, our results for the coefficients of the cosine and sine terms of the [Formula presented] asymmetry are [Formula presented] and [Formula presented] . © 2003 The American Physical Society.
