Chez la levure Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Imp2 est un activateur de transcription qui contrôle la réponse cellulaire dans les conditions de stress.Les mutants Jmp2 sont hypersensibles aux agents oxydant endommageant l'ADN, tels que la bléomycine, le peroxyde d'hydrogène et les ions monovalents et divalents.Dans les conditions de stress oxydatif, il n'y a pas de changement dans le niveau d'expression de l'ARNm d'IMP2.Aussi la surproduction de la protéine Imp2 n'augmente pas la résistance aux agents oxydants l'ADN.Une expression constitutive de IMP2 est suffisante pour avoir un rôle biologique.Le gène 1MF2 est sous le contrôle d'un promoteur IPE (HVIP2 promoter element).Cependant nous ne connaissons pas le facteur de transcription qui interagit avec ce promoteur.Dans cette étude, nous montrons que le facteur de transcription Tafl4 est impliqué dans l'activation de la transcription de IMF2.Nos résultats montrent que, dans des conditions de stress oxydant, les mutants Taft4 ont les mêmes phénotypes que les mutants Tmp2.L'expression de IMF2 est sous le contrôle de Tafl4, cependant Taft4 ne se fixe pas sur la région promotrice du gène 1MP2.Il semble que Tafl4 active la transcription de IMP2 par des interactions protéine protéine.
