Abstract
Processus dynamique par lequel nous nous définissons en relation à autrui l'identité se traduit dans la manière dont nous tissons nos liens sociaux. Elle se construit a travers nos valeurs et pratiques socio-culturelles et l'image que nous avons de nous-mêmes. Les Montréalais d'origine chinoise, nés au Québec ou arrivés en bas âge dans cette société ne font pas exception à cette règle: leur identité, articulée autour de différentes modalités de gestion de deux références - chinoise et québécoise/canadienne -, témoigne des logiques de l'intégration identitaire. Pour aborder la question de cette "double identité", nous avons privilégié une méthodologie qualitative reposant sur des entrevues ouvertes et semi-dirigées. L'analyse typologique des entretiens nous a permis de dégager quatre logiques identitaires que nous avons respectivement nommées: contestataire, conformiste, particulariste et universaliste. Une constante s'est dégagée de l 'analyse des discours des participants, consistant dans une réconciliation des deux mondes, une réelle synthèse au sens où ces deux univers, même s'ils ne sont pas toujours clairement distingués, s'articulent néanmoins organiquement l'un à l'autre.
