El principal objectiu d’aquest treball és retre homenatge a Jordi Casanovas Miró, que ens va deixar el març de 2020. I quina millor manera de fer-ho que donar a conèixer una nova làpida epigrafiada de la necròpolis jueva de Montjuïc (Barcelona), trobada arran d’una intervenció arqueològica duta a terme a l’inici de l’any 2021. La descoberta del monòlit fou gràcies a l’avís d’un ciutadà, que va localitzar-lo en el vessant de la muntanya de Montjuïc, a tocar de l’avinguda de Miramar, 76. Els treballs efectuats han permès recuperar aquest nou exemplar de llosa funerària en bon estat, però en posició secundària, i que per tant no es troba associada a cap tomba de la necròpolis. La inscripció està composta per tres línies, malgrat que la primera només es conserva parcialment. L’estudi de la làpida n’ha permès la transcripció i traducció. Podem datar la peça al segle xiv, en concret l’any 1334.
