Abstract
Between 1400 and 1750, the human landscape of North America changed dramatically.Native American populations collapsed in the greatest demographic catastrophe in human history.Europeans benefited greatly, and established a variety of different colonies in New England, the Chesapeake, New Mexico, Quebec, and the Caribbean.These colonies reflected strikingly different goals, values, and strategies for survival and prosperity.
