Abstract
Angry United Airlines customers aboard a Chicago to London flight've expressed their frustration on social media. NBC reports the passengers complained about spending the night in army barracks when their flight was diverted to Canada Friday night. United said it had to divert the flight to Goose Bay because of a maintenance issue. Passengers say they spent 20 hours in the barracks -- unheated barracks according to some passengers -- when they average low now's about 32 degrees. This is while the United flight staff was accommodated in hotels and nowhere to be found. United's response to a disgruntled passenger's tweet about the situation was the crew must rest in order to continue the flight. You can rest on board the aircraft, knowing they're in charge. United said they put up the passengers in the barracks because hotel space wasn't available. The airline said it gave the travelers meals. United also said passengers'll get a ticket refund.
