Abstract
El presente informe tiene como propósito dar a conocer el desarrollo de la pasantía en la Granja Experimental San Isidro Labrador, donde las principales actividades involucran el manejo de residuos sólidos orgánicos y a la vez utilizar la Lombriz Roja Californiana (Eisenia foetida) para la biotransformación de heces animales y residuos orgánicos de origen vegetal, tales como tamos y pajas provenientes de las cosechas. Por consiguiente, fue necesario realizar el debido aprovechamiento y adecuada disposición final de los mismos, mediante el proceso de compostaje. De esta manera se obtuvo abono orgánico de alta calidad, el cual permite el mejoramiento del suelo y minimiza el impacto ambiental generado por el inadecuado manejo de los residuos.
