Der "Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize" ist eine internationale Auszeichnung, die alle zwei Jahre für herausragende Beiträge zur Schaffung lebendiger, lebenswerter und nachhaltiger städtischer Gemeinschaften auf der ganzen Welt verliehen wird. Der gemeinsam von der Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) und dem Centre for Liveable Cities, beide in Singapur, verliehene Preis ging 2012 an die Stadt New York für ihre bemerkenswerte Transformation in den zehn Jahren seit dem Anschlag auf das World Trade Center 2001. "Cities in Transformation" stellt die Preisträger und die Sondererwähnungen der Jahre 2010 und 2012 vor und würdigt deren Bemühungen um die Schaffung dynamischer und nachhaltiger städtischer Gemeinschaften. Die vorgestellten Städte sind New York (Preisträger 2012) und Bilbao (Preisträger 2010) sowie die Sonderpreise Ahmedabad, Brisbane, Kopenhagen, Malmö, Vancouver, Melbourne, Curitiba (verliehen an Jamie Lerner), Delhi (verliehen an Sheila Dikshit) und Khayelitsha in Kapstadt (verliehen an AHT Group AG/SUN Development)
