Bu çalışmada Cumhuriyet Dönemi Denizli’nin sosyal tarihi incelenmiştir.Sosyal tarih yazımında öncelikli olarak Denizli ilinin coğrafi özellikleri belirtildikten sonra, Cumhuriyet dönemine kadar olan tarihsel gelişimi ele alınmıştır.Denizli’deki sosyal yaşamın ele alındığı araştırmada sosyal tarihin temel konuları olan eğitim ve basın hayatı, 1923-1950 yılları arasında yapılan beş nüfus sayımının genel özellikleri, giyim, kuşam, beslenme, dini hayata dair gelenekler, yerel edebiyat ürünleri, spor, sağlık, sosyal hizmetler, ekonomik ve ticari hayat, tarımsal faaliyetler ve hayvancılık konuları değerlendirilmiştir.
