Abstract
Depuis fort longtemps, Montréal constitue, au sein de l'espace québécois, une zone possédant des caractéristiques qui lui sont spécifiques. A tel point que certains auteurs n'hésitent pas à utiliser le concept de « montréalité » pour parler de la distinction montréalaise dans le contexte général de la société québécoise. À l'heure actuelle, la montréalité de Montréal est un phénomène qui se consolide, alimenté qu'il est par la transformation de Montréal en « cité globale », par la structure démographique particulière de la grande ville (présence considérable d'immigrants en son sein) et par l'ampleur des rapports interculturels qui se déroulent en son enceinte. L'objectif de ce mémoire est de prendre le pouls de la montréalité actuelle de Montréal en mobilisant, aux fins de la description réalisée, des masses de travaux qui démontrent ou pronostiquent la mutation en cours de la métropole québécoise.
