estudio objetiva y serena, teniendo en cuenta, además, el complejo marco histórico que constituye el objeto de este libro: «Tiempos de crisis en la Iglesia, tiempo de cambios culturales, religiosos y sociales en España: momento difícil para acompasar la independencia de los obispos, la acción claramente política de algunos obispos y sacerdotes, los deseos de continuidad de los Gobiernos de Franco, y la necesaria reforma de las instituciones para llegar a una sociedad claramente democrática» (p.378).Ése es, en mi opinión, el éxito de De Meer, que sabe conjugar el análisis certero de los diversos acontecimientos, con el juicio delicado de las actuaciones protagonizadas por aquellos a quienes les tocó vivir estos años convulsos de la historia reciente de la Iglesia Católica y de España.
