Abstract
À partir d’analyses de régression multiples hiérarchiques, cette étude analyse les relations entre les demandes et les ressources au travail, l’engagement affectif professionnel et l’intention de quitter la profession auprès d’un échantillon d’avocats canadiens (n = 2 352). Elle cherche également à évaluer le rôle médiateur de l’engagement affectif professionnel dans la relation entre les demandes/ressources et l’intention de quitter la profession en ayant recours à la procédure bootstrap suggérée par Hayes (2009). Les résultats révèlent que plusieurs demandes et ressources au travail s’associent significativement à l’engagement et à l’intention de quitter la profession, incluant notamment les demandes émotionnelles, l’insécurité d’emploi, le conflit travail-vie personnelle, l’incivilité au travail, la cohérence des valeurs et le soutien du supérieur. Ils soulignent le rôle important des demandes et de l’engagement afin de favoriser la rétention professionnelle.
