Abstract
Britain and the Hudson Bay Company had a tremendous impact on the history of the Pacific Northwest and the Oregon territories. Yet in 1846, the land south of the 49th parallel, excepting Vancouver Island, became part of the United States. This poster will examine the historical and geographical factors that led to the signing of the Oregon Treaty and the beginning of the end of the Hudson Bay Company in the Oregon territories.
