Abstract
A comienzos de 1937, el poeta, periodista y crítico de arte Cayetano Córdova Iturburu viaja a España como corresponsal de guerra y escritor de Crítica. A su regreso, publica su tercer libro de poesía El viento en la bandera. El libro es, ante todo, producto y resto de la experiencia en la guerra, y su poesía es presentada como residuo de una primera actividad: el mundo de la acción. En el prólogo, Córdova Iturburu especifica esa acción como combate bélico, horas dedicadas a la militancia y a la trinchera. Pero podemos pensar que esa demanda que acapara el tiempo productivo viene también de otras escrituras ligadas a la modernización del periodismo y la práctica editorial. Nos proponemos analizar el poemario a partir de dos ejes. Uno diacrónico, como ruptura en relación a su escritura poética de vanguardia anterior. Y otro sincrónico, estableciendo conexiones y tensiones con su otra producción escrita y la coyuntura intelectual y artística de 1945 como reacción frente al inminente peronismo. La ponencia piensa el libro como un acontecimiento en la biografía intelectual del autor y en el horizonte de las relaciones entre producción escrita, programas artísticos e intervención política en la Argentina de los temprano cuarenta.
