Abstract
El objetivo de esta tesis doctoral es el análisis de la aplicación de la Ley de Responsabilidades Políticas en la provincia de Castellón durante los primeros años del franquismo. Se ha abordado el problema ofreciendo una base estadística sobre los afectados, que incluye los nombres, profesión y fecha de incoación del expediente de responsabilidades políticas. Se procede a analizar las distintas posibilidades que el desarrollo procesal de la Ley ofrecía a la población, mostrando sus consecuencias sociales y económicas más importantes. Se incide en el procesamiento por responsabilidades políticas de las mujeres de la localidad de Sarratella y en un análisis exhaustivo de la localidad industrial de la Vall d'Uixó. Se singularizan algunos de los casos más flagrantes de abuso que generó esta Ley, y que se tratan desde una perspectiva narrativa. También se analiza la figura de dos personalidades de relevancia social, como son el poeta Bernat Artola y el político Fernando Gasset Lacasaña. También se incide en un estudio de los colaboradores del régimen franquista a la hora de aplicar este tipo de represión: desde los jueces encargados de llevarla a cabo, como de las llamadas "autoridades locales" (alcalde, cura, FET JONS y guardia civil).
