Cette suite de soixante gravures, intitulée Le Arti che vanno per via nella città di Venezia , fut réalisée par Gaetano Gherardo Zompini et publiée pour la première fois par Antonio Maria Zanetti à Venise en 1753. La ville, dont la suprématie commerciale était sur le déclin, connut alors une extraordinaire apogée artistique. Les gravures dépeignent les petits métiers, artisans et artistes, que l'on pouvait croiser dans les rues dans la Venise de Goldoni. Chacune est accompagnée d'un court poème de Don Questini, prêtre de la paroisse de Santa Maria Mater Domini, qui leur donne un savoureux aspect encyclopédique.
