Abstract
La plate-forme de Québec, sur la rive droite du Saint-Laurent, en face de la ville de Québec, adopte un profil en "M" aplati conforme à la disposition d'axes de déformations tectodynamiques. La vallée de la Chaudière emprunte un axe synforme. En plan, les collines-barres se disposent en arcs de cercle. Cet agencement est analogue à celui des couches géologiques, cependant, la morphologie des saillies s'éloigne du relief de type appalachien et se rapproche plus d'un relief mis en place par tectodynamisme. La disposition des collines-barres est conforme au réseau de cassures (fissures et laminations) en quadrillage. Le tectodynamisme se fait sentir à toutes les échelles. Les fissures et les laminations préparent le modelé ä l'érosion. Le relief actuel de la plate-forme de Québec serait polygénique, mais les agents s'y sont peu manifestés. Le modelé tectodynamique initial, légèrement caricaturé, est bien conservé. L'hydrographie de la région de Québec s'ajuste parfaitement à la disposition des axes de déformations. L'interprétation tectodynamique vérifie les zones d'occupation humaine propices à différentes utilisations et permet de détecter des zones adéquates pour des demandes futures.
