Dans ce mémoire, nous cherchons à prendre position sur les principales conceptions et mesures du bien-être débattues dans la littérature et ce dans le but de déterminer quel modèle d'indicateur de bien-être nous devrions utiliser à l'échelle nationale. Nous faisons d'abord l'analyse critique de plusieurs conceptions du bien-être pour ensuite répéter le même exercice avec les mesures du bien-être les plus discutées dans la littérature. Après avoir pris position en faveur de la conception du bien-être de Valerie Tiberius, nous tentons d'établir un modèle d'indicateur cohérent avec sa théorie. Nous répondons finalement à une série d'objections potentielles envers l'indicateur de bien-être inspiré de l'indice canadien du mieux-être, que nous avons choisi. Au terme de ce mémoire, nous concluons que la conception du bien-être développée par Tiberius répond bien aux principales objections que rencontrent la plupart des conceptions du bien-être. Finalement, nous soutenons que, malgré la nécessité de recherches supplémentaires, le modèle que nous proposons pourrait remplir, avec succès, la fonction d'indicateur national de bien-être. _____________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Valerie Tiberius, théorie de la réalisation des valeurs, indicateur national de bien-être, Indice canadien du mieux-être
