Abstract
Cette recherche ouvre une nouvelle voie à la formation pastorale pour l’Église protestante évangélique au Québec en mettant en dialogue l’éducation, l'Église, le pastorat et la théologie de manière à enrichir cette pratique d’une philosophie éducative évangélique où l’expérience occupe une place importante dans l’apprentissage. L’auteur trace le portrait de l’Église évangélique québécoise et de son pastorat, puis montre la pauvreté d ’une formation pastorale qui donne beaucoup de place aux Écritures, mais peu à l'expérience. Le cheminement d ’une école pastorale particulière confirme l’hypothèse tandis que la littérature indique que le problème n ’est pas unique au contexte évangélique. La pensée de John Dewey fournit le cadre théorique et jette les bases d’un modèle où la connaissance et l’apprentissage s’articulent autour de l'expérience. Puis, le experiential learning et la pensée de David Kolb fournissent la charpente. Finalement, la théologie éducative évangélique vient à la rencontre des pensées deweyenne et kolbienne et ce, pour donner naissance à un nouveau modèle d’apprentissage expérientiel prometteur pour l’éducation théologique et pastorale évangélique.
